France is one of the most important markets for the european automotive sector. Thanks to him, the German and the English the great crisis that has affected the sector I notice a more gentle form. In addition, this market has a peculiarity that does not occur in other markets with the same intensity: in France the government has a strong presence in the builders and the customers always advocate for, and buy, in most models of its brands homelands.
Today we bring you the enrollment for the month of September. According to the Committee, of Manufacturers of French Automobile (CCFA) during the ninth month of the year, the French market has maintained sales in a positive way. The growth we have recorded is placed in a 2.5 per cent registering 168.830 units new passenger cars and suvs. If we’re going to the accumulated of the year, between January and September have been sold in the country 1.502.460 units, i.e. 5.7 percent more than the same period last year.
If we focus on the ten best selling models, the ranking is of the following form:
- Renault Clio: 9.024 units
- Peugeot 208: 8.728 units
- Renault Capture: 6.706 units
- Peugeot 308: 6.095 units
- Peugeot 2008: 5.677 units
- Renault Mégane: 5.377 units
- Dacia Sandero: 4.817 units
- Renault Twingo: 4.673 units
- Citroen C3 (2nd Generation): 4.075 units
- Volkswagen Polo: 3.453 units.
As we can see, all models except the Volkswagen Polo (the Dacia Sandero tell as French as it is a Renault with other clothes) are of French origin. In it, the Clio takes over the Peugeot 208 in the first place. In addition, the Peugeot 308 is shown as the compact stronger of the market, ahead of the more modern and newly renovated Mégane.
If we go to the best-selling brands, the list is:
- Renault: 33.777 units
- Peugeot: 27.840 units
- Citroën: 14.569 units
- Volkswagen: 12.176 units
- Dacia: 8.566 units
- Nissan: 6.444 units
- Toyota: 6.209 units
- Ford: 6.112 units
- Opel: 5.648 units
- Mercedes: 5.613 units
as is The case with the best selling models, the first three brands are the homelands, and the fifth, Dacia, can’t accept it as an equal. Between the first three places there are no big surprises, as Renault continues to dominate in their land with an iron hand. The worst is positioned, is Citroën, since if it is neglected much Volkswagen will overtake the bronze. The rest of the brands have signed a good month, although the most growing is Nissan, reaching sixth place.
