If the month of August, was bad for sales of new vehicles in the brazilian market, September has not been good, and not by a long shot. The fall suffered by the market in the eighth month of the year was 10.9 percent, but has been September has still been stronger. According to the Associação Nacional dos Manufacturers Veículos Automotores (ANFAVEA), sales of passenger cars and suvs new in the month of September have fallen by 19.5 per cent.
This figure represents an 8.6 percent more than in August and therefore makes Brazil lose strength in the Merco Sur. If we add these percentages to hard numbers we have in that in September, we have enrolled a total of 154.979 new cars, that is to say, 23.121 units less than in August. If we focus on the accumulated of the year the fall in sales of 22.5 percent scoring a total of 1.458.952 units.

- Chevrolet Onix: 12.592 units
- Hyundai HB20: 10.020 units
- Ford Ka: 6.611 units
- Chevrolet Prism: 5.344 units
- Renault Sandero: 4.992 units
- Toyota Corolla: 4.797 units
- Jeep Renegade: 4.456 units
- Fiat Strada: 4.409 units
- Fiat Palio: 3.920 units
- Honda HR-V: 3.844 units
As we can see, Chevrolet continues to lead with his Onix marking a pace very good for the house of the bow tie. In addition, the HB20, Hyundai also gets a very creditable second position. If we look closely, none of the models of Volkswagen are in the top 10. The reason is that the brand has had numerous problems with their suppliers and this has made them to sign the worst month since sixty years ago, marking a fall in sales, a 56 percent.
If we focus on the best-selling brands the ranking would look like:

- Fiat: 21.973 units
- Hyundai: 16.998 units
- Ford: 16.005 units
- Toyota: 14.391 units
- Renault: 12.139 units
- Volkswagen: 11.786 units
- Honda: 10.034 units
- Nissan: 6.343 units
- Jeep: 4.593 units
Seeing the ten most sold brands positions are relatively the same. In the first position, as in the models, continues to dominate Chevrolet. In second place it is the Italian Fiat, which once time was the undisputed leader of this market.
