The new crossover of the Spanish brand.
SEAT has released today in the city of Barcelona its new model crossover, positioned under the current Ateca and that will be the model of access to the range SUV of the signature of Martorell. The new SEAT Arona has been uncovered at the end and has shown us what we already knew, will be the version SUV of the new Ibiza.
In the same way that the Ateca is related to the Lion compact, the Arona taken as the base technique and aesthetics, the Ibiza 2017. To the naked eye both models are very similar, the crossover lines and traits evidently taken from the model subcompact, but that does not mean that the Arona does not have a personality of its own. At a glance we discovered as the roof and pillars can go in a different color than the rest of the body and the striking C-pillar, which seems to draw a pillar of floating type.
The body raised, big tires, shields, plastic in the low (bumpers and sideskirts) and metallic elements in the bumper (according to versions) are the elements that give it the appearance crossover to the new model. That fits the master lines of the Ibiza to the new format, including the style lines side, with great mastery. The length grows 79 mm with respect to the Ibiza, in addition to being 99 mm high with 15 mm more ground clearance. The various customization options will allow up to 68 possible combinations.
Will be presented at the iaa in Frankfurt 2017.
Based on the same platform MQB A0 of the Ibiza, the Arona will have a range composed by 4 levels of finish: Reference, Style, Xcellence and FR. In the case of the variants of finish FR find differences on the outside, with a grill grate is wider and a bumper is slightly different, with new air inlets in the lower zone, on the metal protection.
In the same presentation mark has revealed 6 mechanical options for the Arona. Engines 3 and 4 cylinders, all of them supercharged, direct-injection and system Start&Stop as standard. Although for the moment we’ll just see 5 of them, 2 diesel and 3 petrol, to later be incorporated to the range a version of CNG or natural gas.
In the section diesel we find the engine 1.6 TDI is available in versions 95 and 115 HP, while in the petrol we find the engine three-cylinder TSI 1.0-litre versions of 95 and 115, in addition to the 1.5 TSI of 150 HP that we can find in the new Volkswagen Golf.
