Seat Leon Cup Racer 2016, genes of competition for the Eurocup and the TCR Series


The Seat Leon Cup Racer 2016 premiered small improvements that seek to make it even more competitive within the circuits. For the third consecutive year, the racing version of the compact Spanish will participate in the copa brand Eurocup, adjacent to the newly created TCR International Series of passenger cars.

What is certain is that the Seat Leon Cup Racer has been a small success for the manufacturer within the competition. As proof of this, its great acceptance of the hand of private computers: there are more than 100 units competing across the world from 22 different countries. In this season we will see two versions differentiated by technical regulations, though they share the same basis: Eurocup and TCR.

the engine of the Seat Leon Cup Racer 2016 is a 2.0 TSI four-cylinder, developed from the employee in the Seat Leon Cupra of production. If in this latter makes 290 HP, its power and torque increase up to the 330 HP and 400 Nm in the Cup Racer. The main difference in the Seat Leon TCR 2016 comes with a gearbox sequential of six relations, developed by SADEV, which is operated via shift paddles located behind the steering wheel, in place of the traditional lever. The computer brake is also different: it comes from AP Racing and includes six-piston calipers.
