Strakka Racing has announced its athletic program ahead of the season 2018 with big surprises, as the british group changes from manufacturer to compete in the Endurance Cup of the Blancpain GT Series and in the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC). After a season in which the team of Nick Leventis has focused its sports programme in the Blancpain GT Series, leaving to one side the races of sport prototypes, the team is facing an international expansion as a new partner of Mercedes-AMG. In fact, the team will be liza, three Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the most prestigious universities in the world.
The season 2017 was a year of change for Strakka, he decided to leave the WEC to compete in GT3. The team partnered with McLaren GT, and became the team of reference of the manufacturer of Woking, putting liza up to four McLaren 650S GT3 in the Blancpain. However, the problems and the low performance of the 650S GT3 has led the british team to sign with Mercedes-AMG for to line up three Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the Endurance Cup and in the IGTC. They will mix riders of the team and other factory riders, in a format similar to that already used by the computer with McLaren.
After getting to compete with the GT3 to Mercedes-AMG, convert your computer in ambassador of Mercedes-AMG in a competition on a global IGTC and get support of the factory on the part of the signature of Stuttgart, Nick Leventis was really excited about: “Is great for Strakka Racing will be back on a global stage and compete in places such as Bathurst, Laguna Seca or Suzuka. Next to the IGTC, we will return to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, so we have a calendar exciting for the next season next to a partner like Mercedes-AMG which will allow us to fight for wins and podiums”.
