Success for the autonomous car that toured the roads of Spain


On the day of yesterday, Monday, 23 November, was to move the autonomous car the PSA Group Peugeot Citroën by the open road, following the course Lugo-Madrid. The vehicle is based on the Citroën C4 Grand Picasso.

The Vice-president of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, was in charge of waiting at the arrival point located in the center of production of the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group next to the group general manager for Spain and Portugal. the President of the Xunta of Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijoo, also had the opportunity to test the vehicle before departing to what he claimed after his experience: “With this tour, it has become apparent that the innovation is calling us to the future. This prototype, designed by the R & D department of PSA Peugeot Citroën, has benefits that were unthinkable only a few years ago, or even a few months. We will enter the third decade of the TWENTY-first century with vehicles very different to those of today, that will ensure our safety.”

The vehicle is equipped with items such as GPS, radars and cameras to receive the necessary information about your environment and on this basis to define the parameters of your circulation. It is able to to detect obstacles, adjust your speed and advance provided that does not infringe the traffic rules of the section by the circulating.
