The weather improved dramatically in Silverstone for the
second and defintiva day of the tests, involving all the
equipment of the grid of Formula 1, except
Sauber. Again four
pilots owners took part in the trainings:
Kimi Räikkönen, Valtteri Bottas, Jolyon Palmer and Pascal Wehrlein. The
German pilot of the Manor turned to ride up to the Mercedes W05 from 2014
to continue with the development work of the tires
Pirelli 2017
.

Among the drivers of development, repeated for a second day

Gasly to a Red Bull and Esteban Ocon for Mercedes, completing the

In the early stages, the pilots made several
preflight aerodynamic grids of sensors and tires
media, being
Esteban Ocon and Santino Ferrucci pilots more
assets in a track that surpassed just 13ºC. After a
time of session,
the soft tyres went on to be the choice
usual, taking advantage of Kimi Räikkönen for finally leaving to the track

after being in the box during the first 45 minutes.

edge-of-12 in the morning, Esteban Ocon -soft tyres – lowered the clock to be placed at four-tenths of the time recorded the previous day by Fernando Alonso, improving an hour later on two occasions and, then yes, setting the record of fastest test. Meanwhile, Santino Ferrucci stood as the pilot with the most laps completed but, interestingly, without a recorded time, therefore, in every one of the 35 laps went into the pits for mechanics to perform simulations of pit-stop.

The last phase of the morning session was marked by short runs and average in which several riders lowered their times, but none of them could beat the times of Ocon and Räikkönen.

Appear the tires superblandos

After a one-hour break, the teams returned to the activity, with Ocon, Mazepin and a Camera out to the track with the soft compound, and Ferrucci and Bottas doing the same with the environment. For his part, Pascal Wehrlein continued with his work evaluating the tyres and experimental. The other pilots had no time to get out before the rain appeared, although it was only for a few minutes and, after less than an hour with the intermediate tyres, the pilots were able to return to the dry.

it Was when Kimi Räikkönen, with a set of soft tyres, he came to the point of almost improve the time of Esteban Ocon, something that could not get by scarce thirteen thousandths of a second. Meanwhile, drivers Nikita Mazepin or Stoffel Vandoorne took to the stage for the compound superblando, dramatically improving their records, although not enough to approach the duo of head.

With the arrival of the last hour of test in Silverstone, Kimi Räikkönen uncorked the jar of the essences and was placed leader of the table with an exceptional time, not only beating Esteban Ocon in more than five tenths, but also improved the that the Finnish driver got in the Q3 of the Grand Prix of Silverstone, four days before.

Ended up as well a few test that have served so that teams can know more about the latest improvements introduced in their cars, as well as some of that will begin use in the next Big Prizes. In addition, many of the pilots present have begun their learning of the methods used in Formula 1 and part of what we have shown in Silverstone will mark your futuro.
