Test: Test Toyota GT86. Introduction, prices and versions (I)

I Recognize that I have a special fondness for the Toyota GT86, a car that, unfortunately or fortunately, they do not see every day. It is logical that this japanese is not a super sales in Spain. In the first place, by the simple fact of being coupe and 2+2 seating, which is really a double wide, or a 2+1 something set. In the second place, because it costs more than € 30,000 and in the third place because it is a car that was never understood except for those who seek adrenaline on the curves.

These reasons lead us to search public between an environment niche; for car enthusiasts maximum torque of rear wheel drive, weight content and addicted to the curves… but when the Subaru BRZ and the Toyota GT86 found its niche between a Mazda MX-5 and a Nissan 370Z, the ‘Z’ threw the house through the window and lowered their prices, moving away from just 600 euros of the Toyota (32.900 euro). However, if you’ve driven the two, you also find a battery of differences that are not the object of study between the lines of this article. Today we discovered what has prepared GT86 to us this year.

The rims are 17 inches and this is the only design available

As we said, for good or for bad, the finish is unique and the options are slim. just, the navigator Toyota TOUCH&GO (€800), the upholstery (with manual gearbox) or a protective ceramic paint Toyota ‘PROTECT’ (450 euros), are part of the main catalog. As in many brands, there are a number of original accessories to finish equipping the GT86 where we find, among others, some parking sensors that tell the truth should be a part of, as a minimum from the main catalog of options.
