Many occasions we have talked and seen that brands seek to gain advertising, merits and an attractive image on the basis of times at the Nürburgring. It is clear that, as usual, is the “pique” to see what sport takes less time to take a trip to the Green Hell, as it is considered to be one of the most demanding circuits, and also dangerous, in the world. The Bentley Bentayga has chosen to deviate a little of the German track, preferring the Pikes Peak ascent.
Yes, although it does not seem very logical, nor are the times at the Nürburgring, the british brand owned by the manufacturer Volkswagen to establish a record in the ascent to Pikes Peak, considered one of the ascents of the world’s most dangerous. The “Hill Climb” will take place on 24 June and, although the brand has not confirmed its pilot, it seems that the version that will be used will be a Bentley Bentayga W12.
When they presented the Bentley Bentayga, and now a couple of years ago, they said that they had the SUV fastest in the world, something that was proven, at least in top speed, because your version W12 reaching 300 km/h. This variant uses a motor W12 biturbo engine that develops 608 HP and 900 Nm of torque, which will catapult from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4,1 seconds and allows you to touch the 301 km/h according to the data of approval. Not bad for a luxurious todocamino of 5 metres and 2.5 tonnes.
Pikes Peak is as demanding as the old Nurburgring, or maybe more, by the dangers that lurk in many of its 156 curves and almost 20 kilometers in length. The stretch ends at approximately 4,300 meters of altitude and the output is taken at approximately 2,900 meters above the sea level. As you may already know, the requirements for the mechanical, and also for the physique of the pilot, are very high; since, in addition to the average tilt of 7 %, we must not forget that the oxygen at such heights is very far away of which we have at sea level.
