The past month of may was presented to the BMW 2002 Hommage concept, an impressive prototype that was intended to reinterpret the legendary BMW 2002 turbo. It was presented in the Competition of Elegance of Villa d’este and luckily we had the chance to see it there live. With a design attractive and timeless paid tribute to the first car of the bavarian manufacturer that joined the turbo.
This week marks the Contest of Elegance of Pebble Beach and the prototype has not wanted to miss this appointment. Although for this occasion has changed its decor and take a look more racing in your presentation. This livery has been baptized with the name of ‘Turbomeister’ and adopts the colors orange and black. It will be remembered by some, because it comes from some BMW of the decade of the 70’s.
Although this may not be implicit, the alcoholic beverage Jägermeister remains behind this design. These colors were taken many years ago by models as legendary as the BMW M1, the BMW 3.5 CSL or the BMW E30 M3. For the current prototype have also been painted 20-inch wheels a striking golden color. Will continue wearing the classic front known as the nose of a shark (shark nose).
it Seems that the tribute to the BMW 2002 turbo 1973 continues to be present. In addition, in 2016 marks the 100th anniversary of BMW, having already presented several models to celebrate. In the Monterey Car Week you can see this new BMW 2002 Hommage concept during these days, until the next Sunday, 21 August. The closest thing to this that we will be able to see by the roads will be the BMW M2.
