In these days DGT (the General Directorate of Traffic) has carried out a campaign to raise awareness among drivers about the enforcement of speed limits. With this campaign, the DGT, wants to inform drivers of that circular an appropriate speed may downgrade in a fourth part of the deceased by traffic accident.
Next to this campaign, will take place also in the signaling of the major black spots that exist in the Road Network of the State. Sections or black spots that are marked will have a greater control, both in speed as in the presence of police or Civil Guard. To these sections, the DGT has named as INVIVE, acronym of Intensification of the Monitoring of the Speed, so that will be especially monitored.
According to the list provided by the DGT, the greater number of black spots are located in the provinces of Badajoz, Toledo, Soria and Zaragoza. These black dots total 8,707 kilometers of roads, divided among roads belonging to the state, regional and local (except highways and expressways). To put them in the spotlight, the DGT has been studied increase in accident and mortality associated with excess speed.
The province that worse comes stop is Badajoz with a total of 26 points black. These involve more than 820 kilometres of roads in extremadura. Toledo has 16 points INVIVE total of 232 kilometers. The third on the podium is Soria, with 453,38 kilometers of track black, adding up to 15 steps, and Zaragoza has 389,86 kilometers, which represent 14 dangerous sections.
On the opposite side are Almeria with the 5.25 km long and only a black point, A Coruña and Ourense with 14,81 and 20,27 km of track INVIVE respectively. To this list we must add the lack of data from Catalonia and the Basque Country, since the traffic surveillance and the powers associated with it are transferred to these communities.
we Must take into account that the black spots of the road network in Spain does not come from new. The network was designed at a feverish pace to provide roads to a country that was moving forward in leaps and bounds and many of these pathways have been updated in a bad way. If we add to that the fall of investment in public works to fix the problems that occur on our roads are doing that go back to times that we have already forgotten.
please Address General Traffic SPEED is not the only issue that influences the mortality by traffic accidents, so too should study them, and fight for atajarlos.
