has Not been even a month since the resolution of the DTM in Hockenheim and the German contest is already underway again. While Marco Wittmann enjoys his second title and a well deserved vacation, the three brands involved in the championship have organized a test in Portimao. Audi Sport, BMW Motorsport, and Mercedes-AMG will be for four days on the track in the Portuguese during this week in order to start preparations for the next year. In a season of changes in the DTM, with just six cars on the track by mark, can not leave any detail to chance.
Mattias Ekström and Jamie Green are the drivers nominated by Audi Sport to complete this test, while BMW Motorsport has chosen also a good dose of experience with Augusto Farfus and Bruno Spengler to jump on the BMW M4 DTM on the track side. Mercedes-AMG for its part, has appeared with three pilots, so that Gary Paffett, Robert Wickens and Lucas Auer will alternate at the time of driving the Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM during the four-day test in Portimao. However, the German brand is the one which has a greater work ahead seen the performance of the new model.
This test however is only the beginning of the work for all three manufacturers, because in the days between 29 November and 2 December there will be a second test common in Jerez. In this case, this is the usual test for young riders that organize Audi, BMW and Mercedes, and in which each brand evaluated a pilot projection. In this aspect, BMW Motorsport has been the first to announce the two riders who will be in Jerez, as he has already confirmed that Ricky Collard and Joel Eriksson will take on the BMW M4 DTM.
