After a short parenthesis to analyze the data collected during the first week of test, Formula E has returned to work at Donington Park in what will be their last three days of testing before the start of the ‘Season Three’ in the ePrix of Hong Kong, test that will take place on 9 October. A return to action which however has not changed the script seen during the first week since Jean-Eric Vergne has marked the best time to stop the clock in 1:29.640, a recording which has been to six thousandths of its own record.
As usual, the day of testing at Donington Park has been divided into two sessions, . In the first, the fastest rider has been José María ‘Pechito’ Lopez, newly arrived from Japan after winning their third crown in the WTCC. However, the argentinian driver has stopped to a time discrete of 1:34.501, something understandable in a session that almost goes to check that everything is going well. In addition, the day has begun with some patches of moisture on the track that have been disappearing with the passing of the hours, so times have evolved.
In the evening session the fastest was Jean
Eric-Vergne after marking, the above-mentioned 1:29.640 in his seventeenth lap,
when you just subtracted an hour session. A time however has served
for overcome by 284 mil to Sam Bird, pilot DS Virgin which has given the
relay to your partner ‘Pechito’ López in the highest positions of the
classification. Third, for its part, has been Nico Prost with the car
Renault and.Dams, the team that many placed as the rival to beat as current
champion of the Formula E.
Good performance during the first day of the team Jaguar
Racing of the hand of Adam Carroll and Mitch Evans, two of the pilots more active
during the whole day. After a first test complicated fruit of youth
of the team, it seems that the british group has taken a step forward. Without
however, the guys at Jaguar have not been able to overcome in work to Renault
e.Dams, since their riders have completed 42 laps of the layout of Donington
during the day, which in turn has made ‘Pechito’ Lopez. All in all,
Carrol has been seventh and ‘Pechito’ eighth after being unable to overcome the times of
D’ambrosio, Buemi and Abt.
In the point opposite of the equation, the day has been
marked by the high number of red flags, the result in most of the
cases by the presence of debris and dirt on the track raised by the own
cars in your search of the limits. However, the pilots of MS Amlin Andretti and Dragon
Racing Faraday’s Future have been the protagonists of a shock with different outputs
track during the morning session, with the track wet, which luckily have
finished in nothing.
