One of the stars of the Geneva motor show is the Bugatti Chiron. The hiperdeportivo of Bugatti take all the looks of the living Room, but from his corner, the Koenigsegg Regera looking at you. And laughs. The Swedish is presented in production version, and ranks as his toughest opponent. Without hardly any changes on the prototype presented a year ago in this same Room, the swedes offer us their technical data and performance. The Koenigsegg Regera production is shown to us in a red tone, with tires, carbon fiber, dark. Based on the propellant 5.0 V8 Twin Turbo petrol, we have implemented a hybrid scheme based on three thrusters electrical able to attend to the propeller main to reach 1.782 HP of maximum power and 2,000 Nm of torque. Two electric motors are installed in rear wheels independently, while the third electric motor is housed jointly and severally to the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine. With the combined use of these electric motors and the support of a battery of ions of lithium, the system allows to dispense with a group of intermediate transmit.
The main novelty is that the weight of your battery has dropped from 115 pounds to just 90 pounds, thanks to the use of technology derived from Formula 1. His ability has also declined, looking for the light weight – up to 4.5 kWh. This battery of 800 volts has a power in download of 713 HP of power. The active aerodynamic and body panels of the Regera – Autoskin – move thanks to a hydraulic system, whose load comes from the fluid coupling between the heat engine and the electric motors of propulsion.

Despite having some extreme performance, the Koenigsegg Regera is comfortable and refined, both as a luxury sedan.
fantastic truth: it accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds – it is a propulsion vehicle – and up to 200 km/h in only 6.6 seconds. Although these two records are better on the Bugatti Chiron, the 0 to 300 km/h in just 10,9 seconds at the Regera. Chiron takes three seconds more. It is estimated that the Regera makes the 0 to 400 km/h in just 20 seconds. What you are not impressed? how about a 150 miles/250 km/h in 3.9 seconds? Think, and read it again, because there is not a single typo in this text.
The few that have been able to prove say that the power delivery has nothing to do with any other car. Although it has a lithium ion battery and is plug-in, Koenigsegg does not describe his work as a teacher and a hybrid. The power delivery is so instant as in an electric, but uses a V8 engine to heat more than 1000 HP in its interior.
