After the launch of the new Vesta and XRAY, starts a new era for AvtoVAZ. The manufacturer announced changes in the engine and exhaust system to comply with the emissions standards Euro-6, which will allow your arrival to the major markets of Europe.
Larrival in the market of the Vesta and XRAY mean a turning point for AvtoVAZ, not only on an aesthetic level, but for the mechanical modifications that will lead to a strengthening of its position in the markets Western and Central Europe. Both the sedan as the crossover have engine plants that comply with the emissions standards applicable in the European Union.
This means that the engines have been certified to comply with the standards Euro-6. The sedan Vesta began its marketing in Russia a few days ago, initially with a single engine for the domestic market. This is the VAZ-21129 1.6-litre 16v with 106 horsepower and 148 Nm of torque, associated to a manual gearbox 5 gears-of-origin Renault or an automated five-speed transmission. This powertrain allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11,8 seconds and reach a top speed of 178 km/h.
Later, however, the offer will be enriched on the engine H4M of the Renault-Nissan alliance, a 1.6 litre that produces 114 CV, as well as the VAZ 1.8 liter that develops 123 horsepower. All three engines comply with the standards Euro-5.
Both models will have changes in the engine tune-up and exhaust system that will allow you to comply with the standards Euro-6. This was achieved on the basis of an update of the firmware of the electromechanical control of the valves of the electronic engine management, the air flow sensor and a new catalytic converter, all of this without necessarily diminishing the power of the engine.
With these modifications in place, we will have to wait to the versions with european specifications of the Vesta and XRAY will make his debut in one of the international salons over the next year.
