Audi just released a teaser video on its YouTube channel american in which are the different types of lights that have illuminated our roads since the beginning of time of the automotive. The last to appear is an Audi R8 with LED headlights and laser illumination; that is to say, the technology of the Audi R8 LMX that we enjoy in Europe and with that the German mark put an end to the first generation of its supercar.
For legal reasons in the lighting, the Audi R8 LMX could not be marketed in the united States. It seems, however, that the company has been able to comply with the requirements of the regulations and will launch the Audi R8 V10 Plus Exclusive Edition, whose main difference compared to the rest of the range R8 is precisely to have the LED headlamps and a laser module in each of the headlights.
The advantage of this lighting technology is its ability to adapt to the conditions, in addition to the power and quality of their projection. More than 65 km/h, and if the conditions of the motion and environment are favorable, the laser illumination is activated, helping the LED lighting to cover the larger surface area possible lighting. In the event of a vehicle rolling in front of us, in one sense or another, the area nearest to that other vehicle ceases to be illuminated, so that we continue to have a great field of vision and not deslumbramos the rest of the users.
Seen another way, Audi also boasts aesthetic, and it is that this type of lighting changes the aesthetic design of their vehicles and makes them recognizable from several meters away during the night. Certainly, vehicles with lighting of this type are more eye-catching in the dark, because the manufacturers can make complicated shapes and very different in their lighting, something that with traditional lights was not possible.
