In the last few months we have been able to see several prototypes for the development of the third generation of the Mercedes CLS sports sedan of the German brand. This new generation will have a big redesign and will be somewhat larger than the preceding generation, so that you will win more packaging but not more weight, since thanks to the use of the platform MRA Mercedes the new CLS will be lighter than its predecessor.
Until now, we had not been able to view the article in the video, but in numerous spy photos, thanks to which we have been able to see the evolution of the test units, which have gone from a superb camouflage integral to a discrete coverage of the color black, as the last prototype hunted, that already showed some of his earliest external features, such as the shapes of the optical front.
The last unit that we could analyze, that shown in the photo above, was very similar to the previous sighting, but already had some definitive elements, such as the above-mentioned optical or the front grille. In addition to a front bumper interim, but that has a few of the ways well-known to our regular readers, with the usual slits on the sides, designed to test a new family of sensors for parabolic of the German mark.
In this new video, we can see with more detail the rear area of the CLS, although the exemplary recorded had even with the camouflage vinyl double tone that assemble the vast majority of prototypes of the brand from Stuttgart. In the detail images we can see clearly the shapes of the graphs of the optics in the rear, as well as the silhouette of the side and rear, with a C-pillar rather inclined.
At the mechanistic level, we find a renewed supply of engines, with new blocks diesel and petrol 4 and 6 cylinders, as well as the arrival of a new version of Mercedes-AMG. Although we shall see disappear the variant of the automobile family, the new CLS will have to share space in the dealerships with the new Mercedes AMG GT 4, the new sports sedan of the mark based on the sporty AMG GT, although at the technical level will be based on the new Class E.
few days Ago, the German brand revealed the release schedule for the year 2018 and confirmed the commercial launch of the new generation of the CLS for the first few months of the year. This will be revealed in a few months, probably before the end of 2017, and the most likely date will be the Hall of Los Angeles, which will take place from 1 to 10 December.
