The new McLaren 2017 will be called MCL32

McLaren wants to break with the legacy of the past and the first step will be the designation of the new car of 2017. The acronym MP4 from Ron Dennis will no longer be used and the first car under the baton of Zak Brown will be called McLaren-Honda MCL32, maintaining that yes, the number 32 corresponding to the project this year (the car of 2016 was the MP4-31).

MP4 was a reference to ‘McLaren Project Four‘, name used by Ron Dennis since his arrival at the team currently based in Woking in the early 80’s. Another of the issues still to be resolved is the decoration of the equipment, which could go back to being orange after many years not used. In any case, the car will be presented on February 24 at the headquarters of McLaren and in that time we will be able to check to what extent the promise of the team to use a decoration innovative is certain.
