A couple of weeks ago we saw a first teaser of the future Mercedes-Benz A-Class published by the very Dieter Zetsche. According to the plans, the new generation of the compact German will hit the market during the next year 2018, which subsequently will continue the rest of the compact models from Mercedes, as are the GLA, CLA and CLA Shooting Brake. Tobias Moers has recently made some pretty interesting statements to our fellow Coach.
According to the british, Mercedes-AMG will present a new versions for the Class. And we say “new”, in the plural, because we don’t have just a sports version. Coach asserts that, as in the top ranges, AMG will have a presence with two different versions in the compact model, inserting a step among the most powerful of all currently known 45 AMG, and the range more typical of the Mercedes Class A. Now we went from 218 to 381 HP.
With this second step are intended to cover a larger number of potential customers, something that is working very well in the top ranges, such as, for example, the C 43 AMG. The current difference of more than 160 HP between the two powerful versions of the A-Class is very important. Audi has its S3 and BMW the M240i, which are significantly cheaper than their older brothers and, even so, they are still cars able to drive very fast. We assume that this movement also happen to the AMG ranges of CLA and GLA.
in Addition to this expansion of the cars signed by AMG in the Class, it is expected that the most powerful version of all exceed the barrier of 400 HP. The goal and the rivals are the same that until now, have the most powerful compact on the planet and, in turn, compete with the Audi RS 3 and BMW M2. The rivalry between these three models stops, and Mercedes is not willing to give their arm to twist.
