In 1965, Renault opened its engine plant in Valladolid. Since then thousands of workers have been ordered to drive hundreds of different models of the brand. This morning it has reached the magic figure of 25 million engines. A significant fact that will only grow in the years to come.
The employees celebrate the 25 million engines manufactured
The plant castilian is in charge of to manufacture almost 50% of the engines required by the Renault Group. Engines that we see in other manufacturers like Mercedes and Nissan. Of all the units manufactured, exported, 78% to other customers distributed throughout the five continents. Something that we need to be proud of.
The engine which has had the honor of being the unit 25 million is a block diesel Energy dCi 110 that will be transferred to the plant of Palencia to be a part of the Renault Mégane 2016, which starts its marketing in the next month of January. If there is something that stands out, this engine is for its high efficiency and low consumption, with just 3.7 litres to the 100 kilometres.
Coincidentally, the plant of Renault in Palencia reached that figure relevant. On that occasion there were four million Renault Mégane manufactured. Data obtained after more than 18 years of production. Finally, and not to forget, the gearboxes of the compact are made in Seville, so that the Renault Mégane can wear the label “Made in Spain”.
