Due to its low demand for the Škoda Citigo would be discontinued when the current generation ceases marketing. The signature Czech also will have their first pickup.
L growing demand that the SUVs are taking, it is making rethink the companies ‘ strategies around some of the segments whose demand is in decline.
Škoda is not out of this trend as it recently introduced to the market two SUVs: the Karoq and Kodiaq. With a growing demand, the firm Czech has decided to put the focus on the crossovers, something that apparently occurs at the expense of other models.
In a recent interview, the head of international sales of Škoda Peter Solc confirmed that with the sales of the urban Citigo in decline, have decided to focus on other models with higher demand. What does this mean? Means that when the current Škoda Citigo out of production, will not have a successor and it will end up being discontinued.
The model range of Škoda is tailored to the current demand and it is not excluded that in a short time more the signature Czech available four SUVs in its line-up of models. But in addition, Škoda prepares a vehicle in a segment unpublished for the brand: will have its first pickup, that will take as the basis of the Volkswagen Amarok.
Solc also believes that another of the flaws of Škoda is its absence in a market as big as the one of united States or its poor presence in Latin America.
