After 40 years, the Škoda 130 RS back thanks to a development that takes as a basis the Audi R8. The Škoda R200 by Hoffmann & Novague would come to production in a limited series of 30 units.
the beginning of the year Škoda was surprised with a prototype that taking as a basis a Audi R8, revived the spirit of the Škoda 130 RS, a rally car that was made famous in the 1970s and which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The prototype was developed by Hoffmann & Novague and presented in the month of April, but if you thought that this was a simple mock-up, you were wrong, because this week released a first promotional video that allows us to see the visit of the now-named Škoda R200 by Hoffmann & Novague to a circuit. On A visual level, with a combination of several elements of the VAG group, beyond the chassis and mechanics of the Audi R8, observed details such as the rear lights of the Lamborghini Gallardo, headlights Bentley Mulsanne and the alloy wheels of the Audi A5.
Under the skin of the Škoda R200 are all the attributes of the Audi R8, including its V8 engine of 4.2 liters with a power of 430 horsepower, which is combined with a manual change of six marches, which allows you to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds.
The idea is to produce a series limited to a 30 units, which could achieve a price of around 200,000 €, that is to say little more than double that of the R8 on which it is based, but taking into account that this is a car developed to measure and built in the traditional way, you will surely find 30 buyers willing to take a drive.
