The Monte carlo Rally was not the premiere desired for the
Citroen C3 WRC. The new World Rally Car of Citroën Racing suffered different
problems throughout the rally, which caused Kris Meeke and Stéphane
Lefebvre could not fight for positions of privilege. It is for this reason that
the French brand wants to turn the page on the snow of Rally Sweden, a
test in which the white element, you can determine the options
Kris Meeke and Craig Breen, for the output position antagonist that have
both pilots. On this occasion, Stéphane Lefebvre will be flying the Citroën DS3 WRC
Kris Meeke has a set of output between the last priority drivers after his difficult Monte carlo Rally, so if there is snow you will find stretches of very broken. On the contrary, if there is snow in abundance, you will have a picture much more favorable: “After the disappointing Monte carlo Rally, which we had, it’s hard to feel fully confident for the Rally of Sweden. We have learned some lessons and we will come back stronger. It is a long season, so I’m happy to be back at one of my rallies favorites. I Come with the goal of earning, but we know that we depend on the weather conditions”.
In this aspect, Kris Meeke has not started with the right foot after suffering an accident in the pre-test in the Rally of Sweden, and dump your Citroen C3 WRC. Conditions far from being optimal to face a test in which the irish wanted to regain the lost confidence: “If it snows before the rally, my starting position for the first stage will be the ideal. On the other hand, if we have mild temperatures, the ice will melt and we will lose options. All in all, we will make our best effort to fight for everything”.
For his part, Craig Breen will make his debut on the Citroën C3 WRC
after the good sensations offered in the Monte carlo Rally with the DS3 of
last season. In the Alps managed to reach the fifth position without
to make mistakes, so expect to improve this result in the Rally
Sweden. Breen has played in this test four times with an eighth place
best result: “I’m very excited to make my debut in
competition with the C3 WRC. I can’t wait to start, because to be in this
situation is something for which I have waited all my life”.
“I have good memories of this rally,” explains
Craig Breen before tackling the second rally of the season. “Not
however, the 2016 event was my first outing with a World Rally Car
Citroen. Somehow, this surface is a little more tolerant with the
small errors, or at least so it is when there are snow banks very compact.
I feel safe in this test, but also with the car and the team. It is
truth that I do not know very well what to expect, but I am ready to accept any
challenge that I pose”.
Stéphane Lefebvre will fly on this occasion, the Citroën DS3
WRC: “The Rally of Sweden is without doubt one of the most I
learn, as I have only competed here once before and it was with a Citroën DS3
R5. So from this point of view, I’m not frustrated by competing with a
car of the previous generation. I’m going to compete without pressure and I want to progress
at my own pace. My goal is to regain the sensations after difficult
Rally Monte carlo. It is difficult to make predictions, or to set a goal
specific, but we’re going to try to take advantage of the slightest opportunity to
