The WTCC closed in Marakech your first third of the season, what have been your turn the first eight races of the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 in the championship. The vehicle developed by Polestar Cyan Racing has gotten a approved during these first four weekends competitive, in which Fredrik Ekblom and Thed Björk have joined a total of 39 points, with the best result a fourth place achieved by Ekblom in Hungary. However, the Swedish team predicts that the curve of evolution of the Volvo S60 TC1 will be higher during the second half of 2016.
The reason is simple. Until now, the team has been competing with a certain shortage of spare parts, and what is more important, without a third car for test. In this aspect, all the efforts of Polestar Cyan Racing have been keeping on track with the two Volvo S60 Polestar TC1, but without being able to work in a program of development away from one’s own experience, coupled with in one’s own appointments in the calendar. For this reason, Polestar Cyan Racing will have a car test from Vila Real in order to test specific configurations and to thus develop the weaker areas of the S60 Polestar TC1.
Although the last few months have been very intense for Polestar Cyan Racing, with a program of initial tests for the compliance of the vehicle and a start competitive positive in the WTCC, the Swedish team has prepared a second test program in which Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom will have a prominent role, but in which also there will be Robert Dahlgren as a pilot of support, as happened during the winter. In this aspect, Thed Björk hopes that with this ‘mule of the evidence’ of the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 can be worked out in concrete detail that would allow to raise the level to give chase to the still distant Civic and C-Elysée.
