The Zarooq Sand Racer 500 GT can with any dune

If there is something that knows the brand Zarooq, is the car able to cross the desert as if for a stroll on the road were. His latest release is the Zarooq Sand Racer 500 GT, a mixture between sport and all-terrain powered by a V8 engine 525 HP capable of reaching the 220 km/h on the sand.

The first time we saw the Zarooq Sand Racer was two years ago. By that time it was a car designed for competition as well as for use on the street with a “modest” V6 engine 405 HP. Now that has changed, because, according to the manufacturer, the expectations of their customers are higher. Hence that the 500 GT mt engine has a maximum power of 6.2-liter LT1 of General Motors. Even so, it is not your engine the more eye-catching.

This mix between an SUV and a Coupe with two doors features plenty of room to move through the dunes of the desert. Measuring just 4.2 metres, which is approximately the length of a Citroën C3 Aircross or a Toyota GT86. In addition to weighs around 1,300 kg, for which the two above comparisons also may be worth. The result is a spectacular relationship between weight and power of 2.48 kg per HP, a figure that places it in the category of supercars.

What may perhaps surprise some is that the Zarooq Sand Racer 500 GT is not a 4×4. The only responsible move are the rear wheels, something that should not cause one to doubt their behavior on the sand, if one takes into account that these cars have their own category in the Dakar. Otherwise, it has everything you need to tackle any gradient: suspension travel of 45 cm, adjustable in height, body prepared to allow a few angles of attack and departure huge and manual transmission of five marches set to take full advantage of the engine.

The first five units of the Sand Racer 500 GT are already being manufactured, and each a will cost around 393.000 euros. A price that not includes tax, given that in Dubai you do not have to pay VAT. A pity that here we do not have the same luck.
