To the beginning of the year, at the Detroit motor show, was presented the Chrysler Pacifica. This is the minivan, large of the brand, the successor to the Voyager that had an aesthetic renewed and with a lot of technology. Also with a new platform – saving more than 100 kg in weight and with a brief range of engines. On one side was the version of the gasoline V6 and for the other a hybrid variant plug-in.
But now the rumors suggest that the range will be expanded shortly. They say that there will be a Pacifica 100% electric and in addition will be presented in less than a month. The event chosen would have been the CES in Las Vegas that begins in early January of 2017. There are still few details, and it is not clear if this model will come in the form of a prototype or if she will directly as a production model, being this last option the most likely.
Recently Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) announced its collaboration with Google to make a vehicle autonomous on the basis of Pacifica Hybrid. They are preparing a fleet with 100 units of the model, although we do not know if later they will be interested also by the electric. The plug-in hybrid already is very efficient joining the V6 engine Pentastar 3.6-liter with two electric motors.
Has a consumption approved of 2.8 l/100km and with a single tank can travel around 911 miles. Thanks to its lithium-ion battery of 16 kWh will be able to go 48 km in electric mode. In less than a month we will see if it arrives, the Chrysler Pacifica electrical and what are its details and autonomy. To find out we have to wait until the 3 of January of 2017, when it opens its doors to the CES in Las Vegas.
