Subaru announced the arrival of the second generation of the sporty rear-wheel-drive BRZ, that once more will be developed in conjunction with Toyota. It is expected that a hybrid version plug-in.
Dand according to a recent report Automotive News, Subaru and Toyota have agreed to design and produce the second generation of the BRZ, that it will give life to the next generation of the Toyota GT-86 and Scion FR-S.
The ad ran for the account of Yasuyuki Yoshinaga, the director of Subaru, who confirmed that both companies will work together on this project, whose schedule has not even been defined. Yoshinaga said that they have already agreed with Toyota in the design of the new car, but still have not determined when the model will arrive in the market.
But there are some clues. Toyota is working on a facelift for the current GT-86, for which it would not be prudent to wait for the second generation model in a shorter time period to three years. The current Subaru BRZ uses a boxer engine atmospheric four-cylinder 2.0-liter displacement, which produces 205 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. With a total weight of only 1.150 kg, the BRZ can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 233 km/h.
