The Car of The Year already has seven candidates. Dominate the sedans, but there is also a SUV and a sportscar of japanese origin. The winner will be known days before the Geneva motor show that will take place in march 2016.
Tras an initial list that contained about 40 models early in the year, the members of the jury have finally decided and these are the seven finalists that will be faced by consecrated as the best car of the year in Europe.
in order to be eligible to participate in the prize, the vehicles must be offered in at least five european markets. The voting process for the Car of The Year has two stages and the winner will be announced on the 29th of February, on the eve of the Geneva motor show.
Among the seven selected can be a most sedans, but it is no place for an SUV and a sports. The seven candidates are Audi A4 BMW Series 7, Škoda Superb, Jaguar XE, Opel Astra, Volvo XC90 and Mazda MX-5.
The candidates are very varied, assuming duels between products as the Jaguar XE, Audi A4 and Škoda Superb. But in addition there is the Volvo XC90, one of the SUV’s most beautiful in its segment, as well as the Mazda MX-5, that comes from being elected as car of the year in Japan. However on the road have been some interesting products that were on the list original, among whom were the Audi R8, MINI Clubman and Mercedes-AMG GT, among others.
The jury, comprised of 58 members representing 22 european countries they will have to choose a single winner that will be known days before the Geneva motor show 2016. The winner will take away the throne Volkswagen Passat, winner of last year’s edition.
