Today marks the 30th anniversary of the first victory of Ayrton Senna in Formula 1

  

Ayrton Senna had his first victory in Formula 1 on April 21 1985 during Gran Premio de Portugal in Estoril . Today marks 30 years and the memory remains intact.


 

1985 Portuguese Grand Prix. C orria 1985 and second date in the calendar of Formula 1 took place in Portugal, in the circuit Estoril . A young Ayrton Senna had done things very well during the day on Saturday, where he had achieved the first pole position his career .

Senna had debuted in 1984, a year before the 1985 season and found it running for Lotus team. On Saturday April 20 could be classified for casting from the first position and the next day asserted that place of privilege win their first race in Formula 1 .

In the rain of Portugal Senna achieved his first victory in 1985.

Senna demonstrated his ability to lead in wet conditions , managing to finish the race at least one lap ahead of all cars except the second position occupied by the driver Michele Alboreto. Weather and track conditions that April 21 1985 were atrocious, to the point that it could not be disputed now a GP in those conditions. And at that stage it was like Senna dominated and won by more than a minute .

That was first win of the 44 that the Brazilian managed to accumulate throughout his career ended abruptly and prematurely after the accident that cost him his life San Marino .
