The Williams F1 team has had a year of lights and shadows. The british group has been the third force, which is hegemonic in the season of 2015, although it has lost bellows in the last third of the season. However, the team has made some mistakes in the pits and strategy that would have cost more important results. Valtteri Bottas is no stranger to this and in a recent interview ‘Autosport’ considers that the team must improve those small details to give a step forward. The finn is confident and believes that the team can be stronger in the 2016 World.
Planting face-to-Mercedes and Ferrari it is possible according to Bottas: “We are in a very competitive environment for the team and the rules does not change in excess this year. Ferrari and Mercedes have a good base, but in terms of development may be more limited”. Valtteri Bottas prefers to focus on any case in the work of Williams: “anyway I think we can do much better than what we have done this year. If the job with the new car gives its fruits, we can be much closer to the leaders and even win races“.
To achieve this goal, Bottas appeals to correct the faults committed during the last season. Williams added in 2015 four podiums -two for each pilot – and ended the year with 257 points in the classification for constructors, the balance sheet, which according to the ’77’ might have been better to be successful in specific moments with the strategy: “The winter is to believe it and maybe we can have a car really fast. It is important to address the mistakes that we made as a team, as for example the pit stops. we Need to make things better and we are working hard to get it”.
