Sebastian Vettel are led, as in other races, the best time of the third free practice of the Canadian GP, just ahead of a Max Verstappen who proved that Red Bull can go well at this circuit. Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton not passed the third and fifth time, in part because the session was shortened by a severe accident Kevin Magnussen.

The threat of rain that hovered around all morning in Canada not made its appearance with the strength expected, although some riders reported that it started to sparkle just when there was a little more than 20 minutes. Estimates by the radar meant that all apresurasen to mark their fastest laps at the beginning, except a Sebastian Vettel that washed away with the time of 1:13.919 that ended up being the best time of the weekend.

Several drivers tested the walls. Daniil Kvyat narrowly escaped and was able to catch one of the few loopholes of the circuit, but not so Kevin Magnussen, who lost the rear end of his Renault at the exit of the chicane and ended up crashed against the side. The consequent accident, the lack of a little more than 15 minutes, led to the exit of the red flag that, later, he ended up becoming the definitive end of the session.
