A real madness. A Koenigsegg Agera R accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h in 14,53 seconds, the Hennessey Venom GT in 13,63 seconds. Seen like this, how the hell can a Volkswagen Golf Mk1 sweep in the quarter mile 8,385 seconds, and reach at that time, the 285 km/h from a standing start? Obviously, we are not faced with a Volkswagen Golf either, but a beast designed by and for the drag race. A car that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds, enough for ridicule to many supercars. And what is even more amazing, of 100 to 200 km/h only takes about 2.2 seconds and 1.8 seconds to go from 200 to 250 km/h.
I Already talked about some of this Volkswagen Golf Mk1 that has – nothing more and nothing less – to 1,150 HP. What we saw in the exit failed, in the transmission said enough, although its owner ensures that, except for that problem, this crazy Golf has endured a myriad of tests of acceleration without problems.
Under the hood there is an engine with many cylinders in vee. We find a four-cylinder engine and 16-valve, that the hand of the supercharger, up to limits impossible, reaches among the 1,151 BHP of power thanks to the use of bioethanol E85. It features a system of traction to the four wheels, and tyres, for great grip, in order to deal with the need to grip that requires at their outputs. Bear in mind that we are dealing with a Golf course just 970 kilograms.
In short, it is a beast, incredible.
