Volkswagen don’t miss this appointment, and there presented a prototype of the new Volkswagen Tiguan, the second generation of the SUV of the German brand that will give much that to speak. With the name of Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Active, the brand shows us a hybrid variant plug-in of the Tiguan with an aspect campero with which he manages to look really attractive. The Volkswagen Tiguan with more battle and seven-seater will be one of the bets of the brand for the north american market in 2017.
This new prototype based on the Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Concept that the germans showed in Frankfurt. The differences lie in a few – bumper plastic-black with protective low in aluminium and passes of the wheel and side skirts also protected with black plastic. Tire specific 16″ tyres 245/70 off-road and the black roof with roof rack and LED lights long range finished off a look that’s distinct and with many ballots to reach, somehow, to the assembly line.
The suspension of this prototype has also been modified making a free height of up to 24,38 cm and improving angles of attack, departure and breakover of 25.6; to 25.7 and 20 26.1; are 29.9 and 24.7 degrees respectively.
In the interior, the SUV also displays a unique design with a tapestry three-dimensional white and gray with red accents, moldings of brushed aluminum and some chrome blacks. The Tiguan GTE Active Concept has the box of watches digital Active Info Display and a touch screen 9.2″ in the center of the dashboard with functions such as the App-Connect with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Some options of the vehicle may be controlled using gestures.
The Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Active uses a engine 1.4 TSI petrol with 150 HP associated with two electric motors. One is of 55 HP and moves the front wheels while the other, of 115 HP moves the rear axle. In this way we get a system of all-wheel drive 4Motion and a maximum power combined 224 HP. The gearbox is a DSG six-speed transmission adapted for this mechanical hybrid, integrating the electric motor front in your interior.
The lithium-ion batteries of this SUV plug-in hybrid are 12.4 kWh and can be charged either by external power as the power generated by the gasoline engine, they can also move the front wheels. The autonomy 100% electric is about 33 miles, and may reach up to 112 km/h with zero emissions. The Volkswagen Golf GTE is Active also features regenerative braking.
The Volkswagen Tiguan GTE Active has tres driving modes. The 100% electric is called E-mode, whereas when you combine the electric motors with the gasoline used mode Hybrid. Finally, the mode GTE is designed to offer the highest performance, with the combustion engine and the two electric motors working together to deliver the maximum available power. In this way, the 0-100 km/h is completed in little more than 6.4 seconds.
The selector of the all-wheel drive 4Motion offers the modes On road, Offroad, Sport, Snow (snow), Charge (battery regeneration) and Battery Hold (maintains a constant battery charge.
