Volkswagen will compensate you if you are the owner of a 3.0 TDI, souped-up… but only if you live in the U.S.

few weeks Ago we learned of the creation of the TDI Goodwill Package, a monetary compensation to the owners of an engine 2.0 TDI EA189 whose NOx emissions are higher than said approved. In order not to lose the confidence of the customers, Volkswagen decided to compensate you with $ 1,000 to the owners of an affected engine. This bribery was offered only in the U.S., on the grounds that consumers were betting on an innovative technology. The 3.0 TDI were not included in these compensations… until now.

In the beginning, it was thought that the engines 3.0 V6 TDI of the Volkswagen Group were not affected, but in early November it was discovered that the operation of their emission control systems varied at the bank for approval. a Few 80.0000 cars are affected at the other side of the pond, and Volkswagen has announced that it will also receive $ 1,000 in compensation for the damages caused. Of such $ 1,000, $ 500 shipped on a prepaid card such as VISA, to spend on whatever you want.

diesel-3-0-v6-tdi-02The $ 500 remaining will be redeemed at a dealership of the Volkswagen Group, for routine maintenance or for accessories for the car. The scandal of the Dieselgate has already cost thousands of millions to the Volkswagen Group, and face fines for up to 48,000 million dollars in EE.UU. Meanwhile, there still is a clear solution to some TDI people affected in the U.S., that may have to be repurchased at a fraction of their original cost on the part of the Volkswagen Group.
