Thanks to the technical improvements introduced after its last update, the demand of the Volkswagen e-Golf grew in a considerable manner, and the German firm decided to duplicate its production.
L electric version of the Volkswagen Golf was renewed a few months ago, and thanks to the many improvements to their sales soared. Encouraged by the high demand of the renewed e-Golf, Volkswagen has decided to increase production in the factory German from Dresden in a considerable way.
The great technical improvements introduced along with the renewal of the Volkswagen e-Golf boosted its sales and the German firm decided to add an additional shift work that allowed doubling the volume of units manufactured. From the incorporation of this new shift, are now 70 units of the e-Golf that come out of their lines of assembly each day, in place of the 35 that were until now produced with only one of the shifts.
it Is curious that the sales of the electric Golf have been fired just now that the model is very close to receiving its next generation, which we know that it will not include a version purely electrical, since in its place the German firm is planning the production version of the prototype I. D. concept, presented at the Paris Salon of 2016, a model that will arrive to the market in 2020 and surely, we can find in its definite format over the next few months.
The production of the Volkswagen I. D. to begin in little more than 20 months
This new electric model will premiere the modular platform MEB, an architecture developed exclusively to be used by models that use electric motors. Its manufacturing will take place at the plant of German Zwickau, after an investment of 1,000 million euros.
While that happens, the the updated Volkswagen e-Golf 2017 it was put to the day with some mechanical enhancements that include the incorporation of a new electric motor that develops 136 HP (100 kW) and a maximum torque of 290 Nm. The propellant is combined with a package of lithium-ion battery that increased its capacity up to 35.2 kWh, which allowed to increase their autonomy to reach the 300 km according to the cycle NEDC, which mean about 200 kilometers under conditions of actual use.
