Volvo already will not have models with only internal-combustion engine. From 2019 onwards, all their models will be electric or hybrid, even signed by Polestar.
Intentando consolidate its position as one of the leaders in the sector of the automotive, the automobile manufacturer Swedish announced that from the year 2019 all models of its range will have an electric motor.
This means that within less than two years, their full range will be made up of models plug-in hybrids or 100% electric. Volvo Cars announced that between the years 2019 and 2021 will be launching five all-electric vehicles, three of them under the brand Volvo and the other two signed by Polestar, such as they had anticipated a few days ago.
The announcement of the Swedish firm marks the end of their models with internal combustion engine, after a period of transition in which we will have some models plug-in hybrids with a battery of 48 volts, which still have recourse to, gasoline and diesel engines.
In this sense, the president of Volvo Cars Håkan Samuelsson said that this decision is related to the preferences of the public, that continuously demand more electric models. Since the company have decided to meet the demand, present and future, that will allow the customers of Volvo choose a power of any of the models that make up its range.
And their plan is very ambitious, as projected to sell 1 million electric vehicles by the year 2025. Volvo becomes the first manufacturer to bet on a win model entirely electrified.
