One of the advantage to buy a Tesla up to now had been recharge free in its network of Supercharger. Although a couple of months of the signature of Silicon Valley announced that this service would be free for new customers. Who buys a Tesla from this year 2017 would have to to pay for the use of the Superchargers, the same decision that was made to all buyers of the Model 3.
Today, Sunday January 15, 2017, it starts to charge for refills. And we already know the rate that will be applied in our country to make use of this service. In Spain it will cost 0,24 €/kWh, a figure which will still remain cheaper than refuelling with petrol. For example, in a Tesla Model S P100D (top of the range with battery of 100 kWh), the full recharge would cost 24 euros. In this exemplary autonomy can exceed 500 km, so the cost would be below the 5 euros per 100 kilometers.
As in the vehicles of traditional combustion, the autonomy varies depending on the use that we give to it, but the cost is not a priori seem far-fetched. While in Spain, the negative part is that we have a network of Superchargers quite low. As you can see in the map, we are one of the countries with the least points in fast reload. By the time we have 8 stations, located mainly in the area of the Mediterranean coast.
Hopefully in the next few years is going to expand this network. In the meantime we have to say that the new customers will also have free bonus of 400 kWh. Are renewed annually and they are estimated to be distance (approximately 1,600 kilometers. Once worn you will have to pay 0,24 €/kWh above. If you want to get out of our country, prices vary by region. For example, in France it costs 0,20 €/kWh and in Italy 0,25 €/kWh. The cheaper it will be to Norway with 0,15 €/kWh.
