We are loading the autonomous car before even being born: Tesla puts limits on Autopilot

Although it may seem a lie, it’s hard not to develop systems that enable a car to move without driver, and with security. What is difficult is to trust in the common sense of the people. That is the reason that has led to Tesla to refine the operation of your autopilot, Autopilot, restricting their use to roads with very concrete, highways and freeways. In the background, these limits should not prevent the customers to enjoy this technology in places for which it has been designed, but it will prevent the use on roads that could probably work with warranties, even not in the case of highways.

Tesla has found that the misuse of Autopilot could compromise

The reason why Tesla has chosen to take this action is nothing other than the amount of videos that have surfaced on Youtube, and negative experiences with customers that are not understood, or not wanted to understand, your operation. Autopilot was announced, with fanfare, as a driving system, semi-autonomous, given the legal restrictions current only should be used in conditions very specific, and under the constant supervision of the driver.

The fear of accidents, and the request of the authorities, led to Tesla turning off Autopilot in some markets, such as Hong Kong.

While Elon Musk celebrates the landing of their rockets reusable SpaceX, some customers have already begun to launch their criticism. Even from the competition, since Jaguar, a few days ago, we heard some criticism towards the company of Musk by launching a technology that still is not 100% reliable, trusting in the responsibility of its users. The big problem, for them, is that an accident, even if it was by an irresponsible driver and not the fault of the technology Autopilot, you might delay for quite a few years the introduction of the autonomous car.

We are looking for hardcore software engineers. No prior experience with cars required. Please include code sample or link to your work.

Ramping up the Autopilot software team at Tesla to achieve generalized full autonomy. If interested, contact [email protected]

Should mention that I will be interviewing people personally and Autopilot reports directly to me. This is a super high priority.

In any case, the goal of Elon Musk is much more ambitious than to provide an autopilot is very limited. The target passes by convert to Tesla Motors in the company leader, and perhaps pioneering, in the sale of cars autonomous. To do this Tesla would have already initiated a process of recruiting software engineers, who do not necessarily have to have experience in the automotive industry.

Tesla is different, as Elon Musk. That’s why the department of human resources of Tesla has not been prepared to receive a barrage of resumes. So don’t work them. The only possibility you have to aspire to one of the vacancies is to make the Tesla, using your email address [email protected] a piece of code that demonstrates your skills, or a link to the work you have done in the past few years.
