Pascal Wehrlein is one of the leading candidates to replace Nico Hülkenberg at Force India for 2017. This has been confirmed by the German pilot, which is now a part of the team Manor, but it belongs to the program of young pilots Mercedes.
The young German, who was already a tester for Force India in 2015, will be flying the next year in one of the client computers of Mercedes and, after created the chance in Force India, the German brand seeks to rise in his training, alongside a team with more demanding sports. “There’s a seat (free) in the Force India and, of course, we are in conversations with them. We’ll see how it develops. For the moment, I’m focused on doing the best possible job for Manor. We want to finish the season in the highest”, admitted Wehrlein before the press moved to Hockenheim to cover the last race of the DTM that Pascal was champion in 2015.
Pascal Wehrlein is well-known for Force India, for whom he made work of tester in 2015.
Wehrlein, who scored in the Grand Prix of Austria with the Manor, says that he was not surprised that there was a seat open at Force India, because the rumors did not fail to occur at any time. “For me it was not a surprise that there was a seat open at Force India, first there were rumours on Sergio (Perez), just after the signing focused on Nico (Hülkenberg). There is No smoke without fire”.
His partner in the Manor, Esteban Ocon, is in a very similar situation and sounds like a possible mate Hülkenberg at Renault, although it is not excluded that also has options at Force India, since that is also a Mercedes driver.
